SELCO Foundation is an open source, not for profit organization that engages in field-based R&D and ecosystem building for deployment of clean energy solutions that alleviate poverty in tribal, rural and urban poor areas. The organization works in collaboration with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs, NGOs from various developmental sectors and educational institutions to link the benefits of sustainable energy to poverty eradication.

Program Overview:

The innovation and scale of climate smart technologies within the millet value chain program promotes sustainable millet-based livelihoods among rural and underserved communities. The program aims to provide mentorship, technical support, and infrastructure development to millet processing units located in the underserved regions.

Objectives of the Program:

  • Enhance millet processing capabilities among rural entrepreneurs
  • Facilitation of technology, clean energy and finance for decentralized millet processing units
  • Foster community-led initiatives for millet-based livelihoods

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Coordination: Monitor and evaluate project activities, conducting site visits and gathering feedback.
  • Documentation and Action Research: Document best practices, case studies, and lessons learned.
  • Project Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with the project team to design and implement project plans.
  • Reporting: Prepare and share timely reports, case studies, and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in the millet value chain or post-harvest processing value chains.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to process information and create engaging documentation.
  • Experience in field assessments, on-site evaluations, and report writing.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary setting.
  • Willingness to travel (10-15 days/month).
