One Health Centre, Meghalaya
The One Health Centre in Meghalaya is established to foster collaboration across public health, environmental science, veterinary medicine, and data analytics to address complex health challenges at the human-animal-environment interface. This approach aligns with global efforts to prevent and mitigate zoonotic diseases, environmental hazards, and public health crises.
Objectives
- Strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration to identify and respond to health threats.
- Monitor and mitigate zoonotic disease transmission.
- Enhance data-driven decision-making for health and environmental sustainability.
- Promote knowledge sharing and capacity building in One Health practices.
Role: We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team in setting up a groundbreaking One Health Initiative in Meghalaya. This project, a collaborative effort between Selco Foundation and NHM, Meghalaya, aims to establish One Health Center in Shillong by addressing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health through a multidisciplinary approach.The initiative will focus on various areas, including:
- Zoonotic disease prevention and control: Identifying and addressing diseases that can spread between animals and humans, such as rabies, influenza, and emerging infectious diseases.
- Food safety and hygiene: Promoting safe food handling practices to reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses.
- Environmental health: Addressing environmental factors that impact human health, such as water quality, air pollution, and climate change.
- Community engagement and education: Empowering communities to take ownership of their health and adopt healthy behaviors.By implementing these strategies, the One Health Initiative in Meghalaya aims to improve the overall health and well-being of the State's population.Analyse and interpret data to inform evidence-based decision-making and policy development.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, manage, and analyse health and environmental data.
- Develop predictive models for outbreaks and health trends.
- Create dashboards and reports to visualize key insights for stakeholders.
- Analyze program data for time trends and projections to provide necessary information for planning and forecasting.
- Undertake initiatives to ensure data quality in the program
- Insights: Generate insights from quantitative and qualitative data sources.
- Knowledge management: Inform knowledge management strategiesData analysts collect, process, and model data to discover patterns and trends that can guide decisions. They use statistical and computational techniques to derive insights from data. Data analysts work with IT tools and systems, but their role is not necessarily an IT job
Essential Qualifications:
- Masters / Bachelors degree in Computer Technology from a recognized university with experience in health analytics and data.
Experience:
- Three years experience in the Health Data analysis Age Limit: Below 50 years Must be agile and willing to travel throughout the State.
