Job Description:

Agriculture team within the SELCO foundation works across a large spectrum of projects looking at energy and robust value chains, focused across on – farm, post-harvest processing, value addition, built environment needs in the field of livelihood. The programs range from innovation to scale projects such as field testing, prototyping and development of sustainable energy driven solutions and replication of proven solutions in partnership with partner entities. Suitable candidates should have experience in the livelihood development sector, particularly experience in handling partnerships, partner relationship development, field surveys and data collection and Primary and Secondary research, data analysis with respect to the sector or programs as per the designed studies.

Given below are the key responsibilities:

  • To work closely with the programmatic and implementation teams to keep abreast of the programs being implemented in order toto capture regular learnings in a timely manner. Further, actively engage And to work with the data pieces of the knowledge wing to have stronger quantitative documentation.
  • Develop core thematic narratives to build a repository of Innovation and impact driven documentation for Agri and allied to disseminate internally and externally  
  • To conduct research relevant to the programs which are of interest and importance to the organization at the time which will helpto inform programs and strategize in a better manner.strategy
  • To pitch and conceptualize research studies relevant to the organization and conduct them internally using appropriate research tools and techniques methodologies internally and throughin consultation with sectoral experts and consultants.
  • To capture learnings through crisp documentation, develop interesting engaging templates which will be relevant to a wide range of audience (- on-ground field partners, larger sectoral organizations, funders, global platforms etc). 
  • Design engaging articles, curate reports, newsletters, website content, blogs, and edit/refine existing content to improve readability & increase communication engagement for programs and partners to inform the sector on the team’s key learnings in Innovation 
  • Develop Innovation benchmarking decks and documentation to handover for Scale  
  • To be thoroughly informed and have a finger on the pulse of the developments in the sector and To travel to the field as and when required for research and documentation purposes.
  • Deliver knowledge products and comprehensive Document learnings in various formats - up to and not limited to 50 case studies, 20 research/strategy documents, 20 ecosystem mapping, 10 policy mapping, 6 value chain studies, 2 tool kits etc. in a crisp manner.
  • Develop documentation and research pitches by coordinating within teams and staying in loop of the programs being developed and implemented. 
  • Collation of learnings and research in larger documents which will be relevant for policy pitches, pitches and proposals to governmental bodies for various programs. Support the team on the same for up to (and not limited to) 12 documents
  • Prepare reports/pitch decks documents on M&E findings and plan for regular opportunities to identify lessons learned and implications for the program milestonesproject’s next steps
  • Conduct quick research to substantiate documentation and to be able to develop research pitches for larger documents and papers.
  • Coordination with partner organizations, end users, field coordinators, consultantsconsultants, and myriad other stakeholders to gather qualitative and quantitative data and information for required essential pieces of documentation.

Desirable Pfofile

  • Minimum 6-7 years of experience in Social/Development/Livelihood Sector/Communications, related fields.
  • Prior experience in working with Agriculture is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong networking capabilities with demonstrated interpersonal skills suitable for collaborating with multiple stakeholders and manager partnerships
  • Analytical in approach and problem solving with an ability to process information and create compelling documentation- reports, impact analysis and case studies analysis for the sector
  • Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, perform field-assessments, on-site evaluations, and research to producing comprehensive documentation
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office- Excel, and PowerPoint with experience in working with a vast content and data sets
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Willingness to travel for 10 days in a month
