The organization works in collaboration with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs, NGOs from various developmental sectors and educational institutions to link the benefits of sustainable energy to poverty eradication. The organization works across verticals such as energy access, health, livelihoods with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs and partners from various developmental sectors.

The Outreach and Communications team plays a crucial role in disseminating information about the foundation's initiatives and impact.

Job Description:

As a Communications Coordinator (and Content Writer), you will play a key role in creating engaging and impactful content for our social media platforms, developing newsletter, blogs, articles and website. You will be responsible for crafting compelling and visually case studies, writing clear and engaging content, support the communications manager to enhance SELCO Foundation’s online outreach


  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies
  • Develop creative and compelling written content for social media platforms, press releases, newsletter, blogs, articles and website, ensuring clarity, relevance, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Maintain consistency in visual and written communication across all social media platforms. Plan and schedule content calendars, ensuring timely and consistent posting.
  • Stay informed about relevant events, engagements to incorporate into content planning.
  • Foster audience engagement through interactive content, polls, questions, and other features available on social media platforms. Respond promptly to comments and messages, fostering a positive and engaging online community.
  • Monitor social media analytics to assess the performance of content and campaigns. Use insights to optimize future content strategies and improve engagement.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, photographers, and other content creators as needed. Bring innovative ideas and best practices to enhance the organization's online and social media presence.
  • Support the planning and execution of events, campaigns, and promotional activities.
  • Develop communication materials to promote events and engage participants.


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5 years experience in strategic communication, or related roles, preferably in the non-profit sector
  • Proven experience in content writing, development and social media engagement
  • Ability to align communication efforts with organizational goals
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments and work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.
