Background of the requirement for MIS

SELCO Foundation works in PAN India with its team and offices in more than 3 states. SELCO since its inception has reached out to and impacted more than 10 million people through solutions powered by sustainable energy in sectors of health, education, livelihoods, etc. As SELCO steps in its phase of building strong processes for institutionalizing the energy nexus in sectors of health and livelihoods specifically, and aims to reach to more than 100 million people in next 5 years with programs jointly designed and implemented with its partners and government, it becomes critical to have a robust internal monitoring and evaluation system of programs for the teams. With the exponential growth of the magnitude of operations in recent times, it has become imperative to develop a system based smart program monitoring-cum-tracking system. Such a system would help the Foundation in moving away from manual supervision, thereby instilling efficiencies in planning as well as operations.

Objective of MIS development

  • To work with the SELCO PoC for developing the scope of Phase 1 of the MIS development- to offer and support on business requirement discovery exercise
  • Phase 1 should consist of internal work plans (annual, quarterly, monthly) and approvals for all teams and programs at different levels; tracking and monitoring internal project approvals, monitoring and closing processes; integration of the same with the procurement modules of ERPNext (already in place); mapping and monitoring overall organization budgets; mapping the deliverables to organization budget verticals and geographies for monitoring and reallocations
  • The MIS should also support the data archiving for all of the above mentioned data points and information

Other Deliverables

  • To run the product development cycle in close association with SELCO and consider for feedback from team by running test cycles at pre-defined milestones
  • To develop a reference manual and SoP for the above mentioned
  • To conduct first level of training of trainers and develop internal SELCO’s capacity in using the MIS
  • To help plan for the follow-up support after dissemination of the MIS for at least 3 months after handover and final project approval from SELCO
  • To create the MIS backend such that it is open for changes and modifications in future by SELCO
