About SELCO’s work in Desert ecology and Pastoral Livelihood:

SELCO is actively working in Pastoral typology, integrating DRE solutions with pastoral livelihood. We are primarily involved in the Dairy, Sheep, and Textile value chains, with DRE serving as the primary catalyst. There is no value chain for sheep, goat, and camel goods. The pastoralists have no way to market their produce. There has never been a greater need for a more exact, streamlined, and lawful value chain structure to guarantee that vulnerable parties are not abused, such as pastoralists in this case. It is also necessary to recognize the applications and benefits of newly found products, since they may provide new sources of revenue for pastoralists. This is not presently happening.

About the SELCO’s Partnership Program in Desert Typology:

The program aims to further the Energy Ecosystem approach in the Desert bioregion of the global south. Some key program objectives are as follows:

  • To build and nurture ecosystems to promote institutions in global desert bioregions powered by DRE inputs
  • To power & green the desert value chains through DRE and other sustainable enablers
  • To prepare and support existing institutions and entrepreneurs in the focus value chains to consolidate and scale
