SELCO Foundation, an NGO established in 2010 is working on building a holistic ecosystem for sustainable energy access and built environments. In this regard, SELCO engages in technical, financial and social innovation, enterprise development, skill building and financial inclusion. The organisation works on demonstrating and catalysing the role of renewable energy and built environments across verticals of well-being, health, education, livelihoods and other institutions. The Built Environment team works on sustainable, climate-smart, resilient, thermally comfortable and productive designs and innovations catering to the poor. The team comprises practitioners in design, construction, project management, and finance with expertise in either housing, healthcare, education or livelihoods.

Description:
The Program Coordinator under the Built Environment team will be a key resource in program development, operationalizing programs and setting up processes. The following are the key expectations from the candidate selected.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Anchoring Core Programmes - program outline and design, justification, site selection criteria, solution development, lead generation, team management and coordination, operational plan and implementation management with evidence based way forward planning
  • Anchoring design conceptualisation for project sites. Developing GFC drawings and Specifications in coordination with structural and service engineers
  • Managing partnerships with architectural consultants, governments, NGOs, technology innovators suited within the team portfolio
  • Consultations with ecosystem stakeholders: Financiers, Governments etc on potential finances (loans/schemes), policy integration
  • Wherever relevant, support the team on tradespersons training i.e. contractors, masons, fabricators etc
  • Conduct live design booths, FGDs for problem statement identification, market research and similar studies required for solution benchmarking.
  • Take lead on implementation targets and planning for the same with the team
  • Undertake regular visits to the project sites for survey and implementation monitoring
  • Developing processes and methodology to implement programmes with the ecosystem approach.
  • Support in Regional Mapping exercises and other research and content development

Key Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in the field of Architecture with minimum 2 years strong implementation experience
  • Adept at AutoCAD software, Sketchup or any 3D modelling software, Photoshop or equivalent and Excel/ Spreadsheets
  • Adept at coordinating between multiple team members
  • Analytical in approach and problem solving. Possess strategic thinking
  • Strong organisational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritise multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with grassroot stakeholders
  • Should understand, articulate, and communicate with different stakeholders
  • Ability to stay motivated when working independently
  • Ability to structure, track and monitor tasks and their progress
