About SELCO Foundation and Global SDG7 Hubs :

SELCO Foundation, an NGO established in 2010 is working on building a holistic ecosystem for sustainable energy access to inspire and implement socially, financially and environmentally inclusive solutions for sustainable development and poverty alleviation. The organisation works to create and deploy innovative solutions and demonstrate the role of renewable energy across verticals of well-being, health, education, livelihoods, and built environment. In this regard, SELCO engages in technical, financial, and social innovation, enterprise development, skill building, policy and financial inclusion.

Under the SELCO Foundation, Global SDG7 Hubs program is a learning platform to position the UN’s SDG 7 as a critical catalyst for a sustainable and equitable future. The idea is to facilitate productive transfers of local knowledge, local expertise, and networks to catalyze the implementation of pro-poor sustainable energy solutions. The platform is proposed to become a cross-learning platform for sustainable energy and development practitioners across Global South. Currently, SELCO is working with local partners in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, etc. to build them as regional hubs within Sub-Saharan Africa.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the Incubation program of Global SDG7 Hubs
  • Manage the day-to-day interaction with the incubation partners and with incubatees.
  • Coordinate & support the entrepreneur in product development and new product integration
  • Coordinate discussions with sectoral experts in the areas such as business modelling, sales, marketing, financing, fundraising, overall strategy, operations, technical guidance, etc and provide advisory support to entrepreneurs.
  • Help in coordinating to develop and collate training materials (video resources, handbooks, ppts etc), training sessions and workshops and for the incubatees.
  • To support entrepreneurs to access relevant resources and connections
  • Support in organising online and offline cross knowledge exchanges.

Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate in Electrical or mechanical field with 2-3 years of relevant work experience with analytical skills
  • Knowledge in renewable energy is preferred.
  • Working with grassroot innovators and startups is preferable
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate, build and maintain strong working relationships with start-ups, entrepreneurs, mentors, universities, research institutions, industry experts, associations, chamber of commerce & industries, state & central government, and angel investors.
  • Strong communication skills along with writing skills to manage partnerships
  • Ability to understand technical, financial, and operational aspects of projects
  • Willing to travel for fieldwork and follow-ups
