SELCO Foundation’s mission is to develop holistic solutions that use sustainable energy as a catalyst to address poverty alleviation alongside ensuring environmental sustainability. SELCO's interventions lead to the sustainable delivery of essential services such as healthcare and enable improvements in livelihoods productivity and to date more than 10 million people (about half the population of New York) have been impacted. The foundation does this by also developing enabling conditions, i.e., the ecosystem for sustainable energy innovations to be locally developed, adopted, and scaled. The work is spread across sectors (wellbeing, healthcare, livelihoods), geographies (States across the South, East and Northeastern India) and ecosystem aspects (efficient technologies and built environments, affordable end-user finance, entrepreneur development, inclusive investments and practitioner-driven policies). Purpose

To lead the establishment and operational setup of the RuTAGe Smart Villages Centers in Manipal, the Program Manager will work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with the center’s vision and mission, develop a sustainable operational plan, and build capacity within the team to enable long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement an operational plan aligned with the center’s vision and mission.
  • Establish goals, KPIs, and a framework for tracking and evaluating progress.

    2. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all partners and stakeholders.
  • Foster partnerships and facilitate regular communication and reporting with relevant stakeholders.

    3. Team Building & Management:
  • Hire, train, and build a core team to support the day-to-day operations of the center.
  • Provide guidance and capacity-building to ensure the team can independently manage the center after the initial setup period.

    4. Operations Management:
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure smooth functioning of the center.
  • Implement processes for reporting, documentation, and continuous evaluation of innovations and initiatives at the center.

    5. Innovation Evaluation & Reporting:
  • Develop a strategy for assessing the impact of projects and innovations.
  • Prepare regular reports to document progress, challenges, and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8-10 years of experience in innovation or program management, particularly within the inclusive development sector.
  • Experience in program management, ideally with a focus on innovation, rural technology, or social development is desirable.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and manage teams.
  • Proven ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects effectively.
