Job Overview:

The Project Coordinator will oversee the data collection process for SELCO Foundation’s Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) projects. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of collected data. The Coordinator will work closely with field teams, stakeholders, and project managers to ensure the successful execution of data collection activities, while managing the onboarding of field teams and addressing any data collection challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

A. On-boarding human resource for field data collection

  • Recruit field enumerators and field teams based on project requirements and geographic needs.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of field team members.

B. Data Collection Management and Coordination

  • Plan and develop data collection strategies aligned with M&E goals.
  • Coordinate with the program team and implementation partners.
  • Oversee the completion of deliverables and payments to stakeholders.
  • Manage and coordinate field data collection activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and protocols.
  • Administer surveys, interviews, and other data collection methods.

C. Training

  • Develop and implement training strategies for data collection teams.
  • Conduct training sessions to ensure consistency and accuracy in data collection.
  • Identify and address training gaps through data analysis.

D. Data quality check

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
  • Monitor data collection processes and report any issues related to data quality.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality guidelines.

D. Troubleshoot Data Collection Issues

  • Address any challenges during data collection and find solutions to maintain smooth operations and data quality.
  • Respond to data-related inquiries from stakeholders.

E. Data Analysis and documentation Support

  • Maintain accurate records of data collection processes and methodologies for future reference.
  • Ensure all data documentation is complete, up-to-date, and securely stored.

F. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for improvement in data collection processes and suggest ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and requirements

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Social Entrepreneurship, Economics, Management, Demography, or another relevant field with statistical training and research methods.

Experience: 5-7 years of experience in field data collection management in the social development sector

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of data collection methodologies (quantitative and qualitative).
  • Proficiency with digital data collection tools such as Survey CTO, Survey Solutions, Kobo, and CSPro.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Human Resource Management: Ability to recruit and manage field teams across multiple regions.

Multilingual: Ability to speak languages relevant to SELCO Foundation’s operational areas (e.g., Kannada, Hindi, Odiya, Assamese, Manipuri, Telugu and Tamil) is an advantage.

Additional Skills:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams.
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas for data collection activities.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and protection regulations.
