The foundation does this by also developing enabling conditions, i.e., the ecosystem for sustainable energy innovations to be locally developed, adopted, and scaled. SELCO Foundation has been working with persons with disabilities (PwDs) to develop inclusive solutions to enable access to livelihoods specifically in rural regions. The objective is to ensure livelihood hardware technologies are accessible to all individuals with disabilities and enhance productivity, income generation, and independence. This includes solutions in agriculture, food processing, tailoring, and other small-scale enterprises that can empower PwDs as entrepreneurs.

The Role:

SELCO Foundation is seeking a Project Manager to lead innovations integrating decentralized renewable energy-based livelihood solutions for persons with disabilities. In this role, the Project Manager will be responsible for driving the design, implementation, and developing tools to enable scaling of inclusive, sustainable energy solutions that can address the unique challenges faced by PwDs. The individual will work closely with local communities and technology innovators to develop solutions that are both technically feasible and economically viable, ensuring long-term positive impacts for PwDs and their communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic direction and execution of inclusive energy-based livelihood solutions for PwDs, ensuring the alignment with SELCO Foundation's mission and objectives.
  • Collaborate with technology innovators, local communities, and other stakeholders to document problem statement in access to livelihoods and co-create solutions that are tailored to the needs of PwDs.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders such as government bodies, NGOs, and private sector partners to support program objectives.
  • Oversee the successful testing and piloting of the solutions, ensuring timely delivery and operational excellence, and track the impact on livelihoods and independence of PwDs
  • Developing a process to benchmark these solutions for scale-up with ecosystem stakeholders

Who Can Apply:

  • Experience: 7-10 years in renewable energy, assistive technology, or inclusive innovation
  • Technical Skills: Understanding of hardware-based solutions, energy-efficient technologies, and their applications in livelihoods
  • Sector Knowledge: Experience working in the development sector, particularly in disability inclusion, livelihoods, and renewable energy.
  • Strong ability to manage teams, coordinate across departments, and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and innovate within resource-constrained settings.
  • Ability to work in rural and underserved regions, engaging directly with communities and partners.
  • Strong verbal and/or written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to a diverse audience.
