About SELCO Foundation: SELCO Foundation is an open source, not for profit organization that engages infieldbased R&D and ecosystem building for deployment of clean energy solutions that alleviate poverty in tribal, rural and urban poor areas. The organization works in collaboration with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs, NGOs from various developmental sectors and educational institutions to link the benefits of sustainable energy to poverty eradication. The organization works across verticals such as energy access, health, water purification, livelihoods, enterprise development with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs and partners from various developmental sectors.

Job Description: This position would require the candidate to identify and analyze the futuristic trends that can be adapted by SELCO foundation. The candidate must be a motivated self-starter that is comfortable and willing to work in an unstructured environment. They should be able to generate their own work and have exhibited experience of the same in previous engagements.The Futuristic Programs team aims to have creative, out of the box thinkers who are curious and are natural problem solvers.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and development of futuristic programs or initiatives. Apply research findings and insights to create innovative strategies and solutions that align with the organization's goals and address future challenges
  • Ensure cross-sectoral learning and application of innovations
  • Knows where to access information and databases and has an eye for scanning documents, websites, news to identify relevant information
  • Keeps abreast of current affairs and cross-sectoral developments. Stay updated on the current latest advancements, breakthroughs, and disruptive technologies
  • Has experience with information finding tools (such as ChatGPT, Google Scholar, etc.) and is good at keyword searches
  • Monitor and identify the emerging trends in various fields such as technology, disability, agriculture, health, MSME, built environment, etc. Has experience or knowledge of trend forecasting
  • Need to be good with keyword research and where to find the information
  • Need to collaborate with different teams to generate ideas, implement them and be open to their suggestions
  • Engage in professional development activities, attend conferences and participate in relevant networks and communities
  • Need to have some knowledge on designing and be able to rethink a space or product to help think in a much more creative and advanced perspective.

Requirements

  • Between 3-5 years of working experience with research sector in social development sector
  • Experience in designing and implementing research studies and exploratory studies
  • Good analytical skills e.g. the ability to derive meaningful relationships in the data to draw meaningful insights
  • Experience in translating learnings to program design
  • Efficient user of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in managing a study team, data collection and data management
  • Willingness to participate in field activities/surveys and travel to remote areas within the region
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willing & enthusiastic learner
  • Has the ability to service clients and perform under deadline pressure

Qualification:

Master’s degree in communication, outreach, research, service design or any other relevant field.
