SELCO Foundation is an open source, not for profit organization that engages in field-based R&D and ecosystem building for deployment of clean energy solutions that alleviate poverty in tribal, rural and urban poor areas. The organization works in collaboration with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs, NGOs from various developmental sectors and educational institutions to link the benefits of sustainable energy to poverty eradication. About the Knowledge Team:

The Knowledge at SELCO Foundation is responsible for capturing the processes, learnings and impact that lead to knowledge dissemination for the sector as a whole. We work collaboratively to ensure that our programs are executed in line with organisational goals, and that their impacts are well-documented and shared with our key stakeholders.

Job Description:

This position would require the candidate to have strong analytical thinking, writing and interpersonal communication skills. The candidate should have relevant experience in research activities. Research in an implementation setting is a bonus. The candidate will be responsible for collecting learnings from program and formulating different kinds of documentation on it. This will include extensive field work and interaction with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop diverse set of content by accumulating information from the implementation teams as per the priority subjects, relevance to external stakeholders and time of dissemination
  • Conduct secondary research, lead consultations with primary stakeholders (community members, practitioners and sectoral experts) to validate information
  • Analyse information gathered from multiple sources and internal teams to develop quantitative and qualitative briefs and reports
  • Assist, write, translate content for other organizational needs that may arise from time to time, including but not limited to reports, presentations, proposals
  • Support the team in developing documentation and processes for effective program influence at the district level.

Who Should Apply

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in Research, Documentation, Social or Development Sector, Communications, Media or Creative Writing and/or related fields
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Khasi-speaking candidates will be preferred as areas of work require the same
  • Strong networking capabilities and demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills suitable for collaborating with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to process information and create compelling documentation for the sector
  • Ability to perform field-assessments, on-site evaluations and producing comprehensive reports
  • Willingness to learn, grow and develop at personal and professional front, at a rapid pace with a steep learning curve
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Willingness to travel across the implemented sites.
