Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Statistician and Data Analyst to join our team and support our livelihood projects through rigorous statistical analysis and data interpretation..

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring - MIS:

  • Assist in running the ongoing livelihood intervention monitoring system.
  • Develop tools as needed to enhance monitoring effectiveness.
  • Maintain and update the PHP-based monitoring data entry and dashboard platform.
  • Establish systems and protocols to ensure high-quality monitoring data.

Evaluation Studies:

  • Collaborate in designing evaluation research studies and need assessments, including research methods and sampling methodologies.
  • Design digital data collection tools tailored to project requirements (e.g., SurveyCTO, Kobo).
  • Provide support in field data collection activities to ensure data integrity.
  • Develop systems and protocols to maintain high standards of evaluation data quality.
  • Create statistical analysis plans and conduct in-depth data analysis.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations (decks) summarizing findings for program teams.

Data Quality and Validation:

  • Oversee the data collection process to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Implement validation protocols to identify and address errors or inconsistencies in collected data.
  • Establish and maintain data quality standards and procedures.
  • Conduct regular data quality assessments and audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
  • Enforce quality assurance measures throughout the data collection lifecycle.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with research teams to understand data requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with IT and M&E teams to implement and improve data quality processes.

Training and Awareness:

  • Provide training to research staff on data quality standards and best practices.
  • Foster awareness of the importance of data quality among team members.

Issue Resolution:

  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and teams to address root causes of data discrepancies.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for improvement in data quality processes and implement necessary changes.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in data quality management.

Requirements:

  • PG or Master's degree in Statistics, Bio-Statistics, Demography, Economics, Management, Developmental Studies, or any other relevant discipline with in-depth knowledge of statistics and quantitative analysis.
  • Proven experience in data analysis and statistical modeling.
  • Proficiency in statistical packages like Excel, SPSS, STATA, or R for dataset analysis.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization software like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation abilities.
  • Prior experience working on livelihood projects or in the social sector is a plus.
  • Willingness to participate in field activities/surveys and travel to remote areas within the region.
