Project title: Baseline and midline assessment data collection of 100 no’s of Eri spinning DRE solutions for Assam and Meghalaya.

a) Background & Context

SELCO Foundation seeks to inspire and implement socially, financially, and environmentally inclusive solutions by improving access to sustainable energy. SF has deployed over 120 no’s of solar powered Eri spinning solutions in different geography of Assam and Meghalaya. As part of its regular process SELCO Foundation is conducting a study to review the functionality of the DRE base situations of these Eri spinning solutions and assess its effects on the livelihood empowerment of people.

b) Scope of Work/Assignment

The primary responsibility of the consultants is to provide support in data collection at the selected geographies. The consultants will work under the supervision of the Program Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation and Project Manager– Livelihood Innovation, SELCO Foundation. Following are the key tasks and activities

Field Interviewers

  • Participating in the in-depth training program organized by Foundation.
  • Planning the field data collection activities
  • Data collection at sericulture intervention sites using a structured questionnaire
         i Ensuring the good quality of data
         ii Ensuring confidentiality
  • Data entry
  • Timely transfer of filled-in questionnaires to NE regional office
  • Clarification of queries

Supervisor:

  • Coordination services for the in-depth training program organized by SF
  • Planning the field data collection activities with SF program team
  • Liasoning between health center authorities and SF program team
  • Supervising and monitoring the data collection activities
         i. Ensuring the good quality of data
         ii. Timely receipt of the data sets at SF
         iii. Ensuring the safety and confidentiality of the filled in forms.

d) Required Expertise and Qualification:

  • Excellent interviewing skills
  • Prior experience in data collection and research activities
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in local language
  • Flexible and Willingness to travel
  • Basic computer skills
  • Coordination skills
  • Minimum graduation and above

e) Duration of the consultancy

30 days from the date of the agreement.
