The Cattle Shed Lighting Project was initiated for the Marginal and Climate Vulnerable Gowli Communities residing in Varavanagalavi Village, Dharwad and Koppal District. These communities are predominantly involved in cattle rearing within remote hill areas, distant from villages, and devoid of essential amenities like electricity, water, and sanitation. Challenges such as attacks by wild animals during dusk hours, as well as incidents of insect and snake bites, resulted in significant losses of livestock and income for the dairy farmers. In response, the implementation of the cattle shed lighting project provided them with access to basic lighting, significantly easing their nighttime activities and ensuring the safety of their cattle throughout the night.
