| Expected area of expertise | •Strong grounding in animal husbandry, rural livelihoods, or agricultural systems with specific exposure to goatery production systems preferred •Familiarity with India's agro-climatic zones and how they shape livelihoods •Experience conducting farmer interviews, participatory assessments, ecosystem mapping, and field research in rural Indian contexts. •Ability to synthesise system level findings across geographies into coherent, actionable insights. •Familiarity with goat breed diversity in India - indigenous breeds, their distribution, and ecological fit is a strong advantage. •Some exposure to livestock housing or rural built environment is an advantage; technical design expertise is not required. •Working knowledge of Kannada, Odia, languages of the North East, or other relevant regional languages is an advantage. |
